Take a look at this helpful infographic on the insider’s guide to blogging, and then let’s chat some more below.
- Create a blogging schedule. Even if you post only once or twice a month, having a schedule makes it easier for you to stay on target. Regular, consistent content will also keep your loyal readers coming back.
- Use amazing photos to tell your story. Nothing turns me off quicker than a blog post that’s nothing but words, words, words. That old saying “a picture is worth a thousand words”? It’s so true, and great photographs will only enhance your story. In my opinion, every blog post must have at least one photo.
- Build a community/tribe. When I first started blogging, I spent close to a year writing to a non-existent audience. But as I started to read other blogs and befriend other bloggers, my own site began to see more traffic. And by making friends with others who share my passion for blogging, I gained great resources and a wealth of knowledge about things that I might otherwise never have learned. We all have something to share, and we can learn so much from one another. Go build your community.
- No matter what you blog about, be passionate! This should go without saying, but the fact that there are so many dull, passion-less blogs on the internet tells me that it bears repeating. Make your blog unforgettable by writing with a love and passion that captures attention; otherwise, why bother?
